NSE's Announcement and Impact

The NSE stated that Tata Technologies and IREDA derivative contracts will be available for trading from February 28, 2025, as part of the March series. The market lot size and the strike scheme will be communicated to traders on February 27.The February series expires on February 27, marking the transition to the March series with these new additions in the derivatives market.

This move follows NSE's previous inclusion of NBCC, Phoenix Mills, Solar Industries, and Torrent Power in the F&O segment in January 2025.

Following the announcement, both Tata Technologies and IREDA stocks gained in early trade on February 20:

  • Tata Technologies:

    • Opened at ₹735, above its previous close of ₹729.75.
    • Surged 4.65% to hit an intraday high of ₹763.70 per share on the BSE.
    • Despite today's rise, the stock is down 35% from its 52-week high of ₹1,179, recorded in February 2024.
  • IREDA:

    • Opened at ₹171.80, up from its previous close of ₹170.20.
    • Gained 3.17%, reaching a high of ₹175.60 per share.
