Waaree Renewable Share Price Rises After Securing Solar Projects

Market Performance

Waaree Renewable's share price increased by over 5% during Wednesday's trading session. The stock opened at ₹943 apiece on the BSE, reaching an intraday high of ₹973.10 and a low of ₹935.40.

Solar Project and New Contracts

The company announced that it has received an Award Letter for an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contract worth ₹262 crore. This contract involves the development of a ground-mounted a solar power project with a capacity of 170 MW AC/255 MW DC on a turnkey basis. The project is scheduled for completion by the financial year 2025-26.

In addition to this, Waaree Renewable recently secured other significant contracts. In February, the company received a ₹40 crore contract from Continuum Green Energy for a 40 MWh battery storage project at wind-solar hybrid sites in Gujarat.

In January, the firm obtained a ₹277.20 crore order to establish a ground-mounted solar project with a capacity of 105 MWp (DC).

Earlier this month, a consortium involving Waaree Renewable and two other firms secured an EPC order worth ₹740.06 crore for a 125 MW AC solar project.

Financial Performance

Waaree Renewable reported a decrease of approximately 17% in its consolidated net profit for the month of December 2024 quarter. The net profit stood at ₹53.48 crore, compared to ₹64.23 crore during the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. This decline was attributed to increased expenses.

Summary

Waaree Renewable's share price increased significantly following the announcement of new project acquisitions. The company continues to acquire major contracts in the renewable energy sector, including large-scale solar and battery storage projects. Despite these new orders, the company's net profit for the December 2024 quarter declined year over year due to rising costs.
